The series was produced by Finnish animation studio Kombo Studios, which Rovio bought in June 2011. They planned to produce 52 short (sub-3 minute) episodes.
Rovio had announced a TV series based on the Angry Birds video games for Q4 2012. Nickelodeon has shown Angry Birds: Wreck The Halls, a Christmas special aired on December 17, 2011, and Angry Birds Space, an animated prequel to the video game of the same name in March 2012.
